Hello,
I have weeds that produce small round (thistle-like)form that get
intangled in my dog's hair. I don't think the weed is a thistle because
of it's small size. Any idea's?? Sorry for the vague description. Penny

Those are called cockle burs. At least what I have been told . That is how =
the plant gets it's seeds around us from attaching to animals.

I'm thinking if its small, probably a burclover fruit. Just like
beans, but curled up, and with spiney edge. Prob'ly need a
magnifying glass to notice.
Maybe cockelburrs. Depends on where you are.
Here in SoCal, not many cockel burs here, but LOTS of sticker
plants.

I think the weed maybe Burdock (Arctium minus). I live in Northern IL.
The weed is about 2-4 feet tall with the small mass of the burs at
the end of the plant. What I would like to know is how to get rid of
the plant? What type of chemical to use? I am going to pull out all
that I can but I don't want these to grow again. Thanks Penny
