Hi I have another question. I have an old apple tree on the corner of
my property and it has never been really taken care of for many many
years. I am wondering how to bring it back to bearing good apples
again. Should I prune it? Should I fertilize it???? Should I mow
around it????
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Patty

Yes. You need another apple or crabapple tree, and you
have to have pollinators. Bees do most of the pollinating
work for apples, and for a backyard apple tree there are
usually enough wild bees around to do the job.

I have one mac. apple tree in my backyard and it produces a lot of fruit. H=
owever, there could be another tree in the neighborhood that I am not aware=
of. I am also not sure about how close they need to be for pollination. I =
have been told that it is a crab apple tree because it bears very small fru=
it, but I haven't done much research on that information. Wouldn't trade my=
little apple tree for anything. I love it.
