I'm going to grow some herbs.
1. Sage
2. Oregano
3. Dill
4. Chives.
What would be the better option.
1. Ceramic unglazed pot?
2. Ceramic glazed pot?
3. Terricotta pot?
or
4 Plastic pot?
I know the saucer needs to be bigger then the pot for easy watering.
The directions on the back of the packet say the soil needs to be
kept moist and in a bright spot but not in direct sun. And well
drained with light soil.
I heard also. that terricotta pots tend to waste a lot of water by
absorbing a lot.
PS. Sorry for bad spelling. And thanks in advance
Lisa

The type of pot is not terribly important. Having a good, rich potting soil
& watering are far more critical. Terracotta & ungalzed ceramic will absorb
water, however the soil will leach that moisture back out if it needs it
too.
Good luck!

I agree that the soil is more important. Watch out also if you see some whi=
te salts on the surface of the soil.

Hola- Lisa- My herbs are planted in plastic pots! I keep them in the backya=

Hola Luis.
Thanks. I think I was going to opt for plastic in the long term anyway. The=
y just seem more practical. But I wanted to find out what people find works=
best for them.
Do...no wait, what slow release foods and wetting agents do you give them?
I would prefer something in a granular form rather then solution. since i a=
m hopeless with measuring volumes in liquids
And Australians now have permanent water restrictions in place. So i can on=
ly water at particular times and days of the week

Hola- The one I used is Osmocode? I would look at the bottle later so that =
I can tell you for sure! I left it in the greenhouse! Either a balanced fer=
tilizer or one that has a higher middle.
Potasium I think.
