Growing up in LA in the 1930s, I was a member of the L.A.County Museum stam=
p club. We met on Saturday mornings in the basement. Upstairs there were la=
rge displays of native flora - all dried plants - in large glass cases. The=
re was a display of poisonous plants such as p.oak.
When they took down the displays, one of the workers gathered the poison oa=
k (the remains must have been at least 20 years old) and he had contact der=
matitis!
