For relief purposes, you can use apple cider vinegar compresses to relieve =
the itch. The apple cider vinegar will neutralize the ph in your skin and =
relieve the irritation, temporarily. Just soak a wash cloth in the vinegar=
and apply to affected area.

In regards to the poison ivy thread going on here
right now I thought that I would chime in under a
different subject line. There is a homeopatic
treatment for poison ivy that is actually derived from
poison ivy. A friend of mine used to be horribly
allergic to it and would break out terribly bad every
year because he loves the great outdoors. On one
occassion when he had a bad rash a lady at a health
food store told him about the treatment. Buy a bottle
of the homeopathic remedy, preferably before the
growing season when it is leafed out. Take the entire
bottle as outlined on the directions. A number of
people have developed immunity to the plant for that
summer by doing that. My friend remained immune for
two years after he tried the remedy. Seeing as
homeopathic treatments are deemed as completely safe
there are no known dangers or side-effects. Just to
insure that poison ivy rash does not occur in
subsequent years it is a good idea to repeat the
treatment annually, if you find that it works for you.
It is also used as a treatment after exposure to the
noxious vine and one is suffering from a rash.
