I have some staghorn ferns battered by the hurricanes from two years
ago. Does anyone know the type of fertilizer to use to help bring them
back to a better condition?
Thanks

They'd love you if you could get some soil straight from the woods. That's
what I do, including the first layer minus the limbs and twigs. It's the
best soil for them.
Love,
Denise

I have found that any fertilzer made for orchids seems to work well, I grow=

Hi Annie, i have different kinds of ferns and staghorn too, aside from the =
spaghnum moss as bill says try to water it 3x a day if possible. And if you=
have a banana peel put it in the middle of the staghorn..I bet your stagho=
rn will be as pretty as you will be expected since potasium is good to any =
ferns which banana peel has. Potasium is good to all kinds of ferns.

all my ferns and they thrive inside all year. I have had Stags for
years and as long as they get good light, a high nitrogen fertilizer
will help them to thrive. :-) Jane

Luis, I would love to see a picture of your fern, do you have an old pictur=
e
of it in the hanging basket? I never thought of putting ferns in hanging
baskets, and I really love the idea!
I hope you have pics, I can't wait to see it!

Hola- My staghorn fern is now forteen years old! It was planted in a wire
hanging basket- lined with moss- 14 inch basket- and I planted it using
orquid bark mix; well, it has grown so big and heavy that broke the wires
holding it! It now sits on a bench in the greenhouse. I would like to split
it into various plants, but I do not know how! Do you?
Thank you

season or I'd be planting htem now :)
Thank you,
