Yes, they grow on bushes. But should, but don't need support.
I planted 11 raspberry plants last fall. Looks like maybe 8 survived.
I have a partial hog panel, and two T-posts I plan on putting behind them
to prop them up. Using twine I suppose.
I also read that Raspberries should not be planted too close to
tomato plants, as they are suspetible to the same diseases. So they
are off from my main garden.

Our garden fence is just a range type fencing to keep the critters out. Th=
e bushes at next to them and hubby is trying to get them to grow like a vin=
e....though I keep telling him they are BUSHES, not VINES!! The tomatoes ar=
e in the same area about 10 ft away, farther than last year. We (thankfull=
y) had no problems with the tomatoes last year, and the berries were so sma=
ll that they didn't put out much in the way of fruit.
All 6 grape vines are growing great, and berries are looking good too-so fa=
r. How do I keep the raspberries in control? They seem to create a lot of "=
babies" around the old mamma plant...I really don't want a big circle of bu=
shes in the garden (and outside it now also)!

Those babies are likely suckers and give in space and bare ground, they wil=
l continue to spread. I have a neighbor who has Blackberries in the middle =
of her lawn and it appears the suckers can't push up through the lawn so it=
looks like its well contained.
