I certainly am no expert because I've never grown them, but after doing som=

reading online, I learned that berries are produced on the canes in the
second year. After the berries are harvested, those canes can be cut to the
ground as they will not produce again. This year's new suckers or canes
won't produce berries until next year, so don't cut those down!
