star agave freeze damage

It went down to 29 during the recent cold snap here in Glendale, CA.
I have a very old and large colony of star agave that suffered. Most
of the leaves are wilted and are now turning yellow. Is there hope
for them? Should I cut back the dying stuff?

Help!

No no no! Don't cut anything back! The core might still be alive
but if you cut it back now, and it freezes again, you'll lose the
core for sure. Just leave it until well into spring. My agaves
(which are the star agave?) resprout after freezing but it takes some
time and warmth.
