Hi,
I have the above orchid growing in my house. The potting medium is
spaghum moss. The orchid is not doing well. First the leaves have black
fungus looking marks on them then the leaves yellow and fall off. The
orchid has poor growth even though I feed it weakly weekly with orchid
food. My other orchids are doing great.
I need the fact sheet on growing this orchid. Also I need to figure
out what is causing the black splotches. It does not have scale.
Thanks!

Hola Bruce- I have had Trigonidum egertonianun? for a long time; it is very prolific plant for me, and I think that it likes to be kept sort of dry. My plants are planted in orquid bark mix and they have always been ok. You can look it up in the Internet Orquid Species Encyclopedia.

Hola- I think that I replied to the wrong person the first time! But anyway, as I said before, I have had Trigonidum Egertoninum? for a long time and it is an easy plant to grow as far as I am concerned! My plants are planted in clay pots using "orquidbark mix", and they are kept kind of dry during the cold months and wet during the warm months. You can look it up if you go to the "orquid species encyclopedia".
Let me know if I can help you with it.

Luis,
You mention that your orchids are planted in clay pots. I assume clay would be much better than plastic. My orchids were in plastic pots when I purchased them from the nursery and they told me not to repot at least until after blooming. What do you think; should I report in clay?

Hola- I have better luck using clay, but that is my way since I can control the humidity better when in clay. I repot my orchids any time of the year I just keep them sort of dry for a little while afterward.
Which varieties do you grow?
