This story is literally about what is in our backyard. We live in Macon county that is listed in the article. This particular weed is one of many that grow in my own garden. It said it was a type of amaranth? I wonder if it is edible? Here is a link to a site with pictures of the plant.

It is wild in the foothills around Boise !
