
Her dilemma was that the choices were put forth as exclusive options -
either native *or* non-native. Only planting natives, or planting
diversely using non-natives. Your average garden is largely non-native
and no one should ever be made to feel guilty or confused about that.
However, it's not exclusive - natives and non-natives are equally at
home in the garden.
