John wondered
"I think 2, 4 -D has been decommissioned in the chemical warfare called
gardening?"

2, 4, D is still alive and the most popular lawn "weed" suppressor going and
with Dicambra about the only lawn "weed" killer the average consumer can
get, today. Some years back one of Dow-Midlands employees died of cardiac
arrest after being sprayed with 2, 4, D during manufacture. Dow-Midland paid
a large fine over that.

Hello my fellow Organic Gardeners,

I'm new to the group. Have been growing organically since my son
was was three and picking stuff off the vine to eat (he's now 18).=20
I live in southern NJ (zone 6).

I am interested in hearing anyone's experience with organic
herbicides. I did a search of the past messages and all were
several years old and possibly new products have come out.

I have a stone driveway and I want to kill the weeds growing in the
stones. Late last summer I found "Burnout" which I purchased
from "Whole Foods Market" (after they shipped it from another
store). It was "ok" but not real great (it even smelled nice). It
came in spray bottles (ready mixed) and my hand hurt after all the
spraying.

Would prefer to stay away from ordering online but if its my only
choice, I will consider it. Would really like to find some place
locally with vinegar or citrus oil available. I have no problem
with mixing some home remedy either. Something to mix up in a pump
sprayer would be ideal.
