There seems to be lots more places giving information, too. I searched on
'dogpile.com' for 'storing apples' and got 73 returns. Ray

Hi, I have a question hopefully someone can help me with.
I would like to get appples for long term storage. I can get half
bushels for 10 right now. I'm working on canning a bushel now but was
thinking about if I could keep some longer like people do in a root
celler or basement BUT I dont have either. I do have a big barn that
we use for the horses and tools and stuff. It's not heated or air
tight either! Is there anyway to keep apples in the barn, maby layered
in boxes or something? We're in zone 7 so we do get snow and freezing
temps but I'm not talking about having fresh apples in January. Just
something to last a bit so I dont have to can so much and can keep
some fresh? Is it possible?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!
Willa
