THEFT BONSAI ALERT
Be on the lookout...

THEFT OF BONSAI TREES FROM ELANDAN GARDENS MUSEUM COLLECTION.
SIX TREES TAKEN. Approximate loss, $24,000.00
ALL TREES ARE SIGNATURE DAN ROBINSON TREES.
THESE ARE DISTINCTIVELY DESIGNED.
1. Western Hemlock 24? tall. Trunk 5? diameter. Informal Upright. Pale
Green Round Pot. Collected tree, about 350 years old. This tree is a
natural hybrid between Western Hemlock and Alpine Hemlock.
2. Korean Red Pine. 20? tall. Trunk 4? diameter. Slanting style, light
green needles. Brown unglazed clay rectangular pot. This tree was
grown from seed and has been styled for about 43 years.
3. Japanese Black Pine. 16? Cascading style, short dark green needles.
Tall black pot, Artist Charles Glouschester. (Looks like old iron.)
This tree has a fabulous root system.
4. Apache Pine. 22? Tall. 6? diameter trunk. Gnarly tree. This is an
ancient. About 600 years old. Rectangular brown clay unglazed pot.
Flared with legs. This is a collected tree, has a hollow trunk in the
base.
5. Forsythia. 24? Tall. 5? diameter trunk. Two trunk style. Antique
Chinese green bowl-shaped pot. The branches are very gnarly.
6. Black Pine. 20? Tall. Tree growing in a rock. Short light green
needles. Roots clasp over a rounded lava stone about 8? tall. Trunk
size is about 2 1/2?. Shallow oval-shaped unglazed brown clay pot.

As I live in Washington Ill keep a eye out and Ck Ebay and some other
sites, Like Jim said, Pics would be great.
Some one wanted them or placed a Order for them, Not something a reg
Thief would consider.
I hope there found and some one takes care of them till there recovered,
Elanden Gardens worked hard a very long time to make
that bay side land a Wonderfully Bonsai Exhibit.

I am sorry to hear about Dan and Diane's loss of trees. Unfortunately, if
this is more than a mindless prank, the trees are probably destined to
potential buyers outside of the US.
Dan and Diane: I will keep my eyes and ears open.
