I've got the one-gallon liquid. Lasts a long time for my exotics -
doesn't take much.
Have fun,
Mike

Anyone using this on their lawns? Son sometimes fertilizes others
yards so may be a benefit...he uses Milorganite, in the bag.=20

Thanks.

Mike,
I'm sure hoping that I can be an invited guest to your garden if I
get to my Arlington, TX daughter.
Thanks for the info.
I have to order online as still not able to find anyone here selling
it. Even Maxicrop said no sales from Colorado, zone 5. Thanks for
info.

I use the liquid, too. I have to ask, though. If your daughter lives
in Arlington, why don't you just ask her to get you some and send it
to you? For her it will be easy to find. If nothing else she can go
to Redenta's on West Arkansas Lane for organic products.=20
I lived in Arlington for 19 years. I am not that far from it now.=20
John Bridges spends quite a bit of time there in Veterans Park at the
greenhouse. You would be more likely to meet us than Mike. I
visited him once. Took me nearly 2 hours of good driving time from
here. Worth the trip, of course.
Of course, if you were up to the travel, I do know the way there...to
Mike's place.
Organic products are easy for us to obtain here in Texas. I so wish
it were so in other parts of the country/world. It is getting better
I think....just taking time.=20

You're most welcome. It's a bit of a work in progress - meaning a lot of
disarray, containers seemingly chaotically placed but actually very
strategically so (don't tell my wife tho), big pit in the ground, weeds
all over and in the little vineyard, etc etc etc. It'll get better as
time goes tho... I need to prepare large banana beds which will take a
lot of work - basically creating huge compost piles where they will be
going. And my taro beds are still between planning and implimentation -
just too durned hot to get out there and dig and move cinderblock. Even
the winter shelter isn't prepared yet - I need to get working on that
pronto so it'll be ready come the end of October. On second thought,
you're most welcome to come now. I have a spare shovel...
Cheers,
Mike

Have her get a gallon or two of Alaska Fish Fertilizer too. No, not to
fertilize your fish. :) It's not very expensive and is usually sold
where the liquid seaweed is sold (also get a gallon or two of that - the
biggest size they sell - better value). As to hotspots, I'm not aware of
any. Depends on the store and the market, methinks. I got my Maxicrop at
the local ag/feed store! It was dusty tho. I got my fish fertilizer at
Walfart! So - it can be surprising where you find the stuff...
Cheers,

Gloria,
I never thought of asking daughter, but she is going to Lowe's today
to Maxicrop Liquified Seaweed. The other nursery there have it too-
-a few cents more in price. So you are near by. Plan on a get
together since you are not too far away. Now I do make daily trips
to Whole Foods. Being a small world I bumped into a guy from
Colorado who sells the LaraBars (sort of healthy bar) smack in that
store. Now that you know the way to Mike's place, it would be a
great time to meet both. Looks more like towards end of yr. visit
daughter.=20
Where is organics plentifully sold? I need some hot spots for the
trip towards end of year. Can't wait for my Maxicrop now.=20

Actually the price from www.maxicrop.com and shipping is pretty
comparable to what my daughter would be paying to ship to me.

I very much plan to build an area where I can put in an imu. I've got
the banana trees for the pseudostems and leaves needed for the imu. Just
need the pig, more mature taro for poi, luau leaves (I've got a lot but
not enough), some mahi mahi and all sorts of goodies for a proper luau.
Will pass out grass skirts at the garden entrance. :)
Be well,
Mike

When you do come we can try to get all of the local GO members together
someplace. There are several organic only nurseries in the area, too,
that we can visit, if you would like. Redenta's in Arlington is the
one I mentioned, but there are several others, one in particular with
quite a bit to see because it is built on an old estate.
Maybe Mike can throw us a luau when we get to Comanche....

He does protest too much. When I was there a year ago in June the
pit was only a small hole he had hand dug. After that the backhoe
came in and did the deed. Hard to make progress when one works a
full time job...and has 2 kids.=20
I still want the luau....but I will settle for something smaller I
suppose. LOL Just feed me pineapple. It is no secret I love
pineapple.

Maxicrop powder is available through Bountiful Gardens
http://www.bountifulgardens.org/shop/compost-fertility.html . I can't
figure out the unit conversion between theirs and the Maxicrop site you
posted, but I've found Bountiful to be a steal of a deal on most
everything else. Plus, purchases through Bountiful go to support their
outreach program which teaches biodynamic / sustainable agriculture
techniques in third world countries.

Well, maybe I use more than 7 gallons - I do go back and forth a couple
of times and it's easy to lose count, but it's still not a whole lot. I
try to concentrate on the soil itself and then anything I pour into it
is just a... snack. I also pre-wet the soil the day before so that what
I pour on kinda soaks into the top and stays there. If my logic isn't
totally askew, that is. They only get... well, it may actually only be
about half a cup each. The grapes get a bit more tho. I'd much rather
spray on the leaves too, but as you said, the emulsion is just a bit
thick for me and it's all I have at the moment. I'll get that siphon
before long - it's cheap. But... so is another banana tree. :)
