banana squash

I been trying to grow banana squash since early this year. About 3
months ago, I finally got a plant to take, and it's thriving (maybe the
coffee grounds I planted the seed in?). I had a tri-pod like trellis
covered in chicken wire about 5 feet tall that the vine attached itself
too, but the plant out grew that and is now climbing along my wooden
fence. A few days ago, I noticed that a squash has started to form in
an area above the trellis on the fence where there really isn't
anywhere that the plant's tendrils are holding on too.=20

I was wondering if anyone has experience growing banana squash, and if
they do, how big do the squash get? Do you think the fruit will need
some sort of extra support?=20

Thank you very much,

they are pretty good sized-- like a medium sized hubbard. And thanks for r=
eminding me that we planted a couple of hills of banana squash this year. =
The Spring winds took care of any signs we had out there. Judie
