I'd love to see them! I need to get over to Wattsburg Fen this summer to get
new photos. I'm working on replacing all my slides with new digitals.
Lee Ann

wannna see mine? Some of them are in a provincial camping park not far from
here and the guys were mowing them off!!! well some of them. Steve warned
them not to any more but they will, once the flowers fade. There were spots
of nearly 20 in place but looks like the deer or maybe rabbits nibbled them
back to the ground. Some were stalks in flower and no leaves except the
crimped remains..........very nice blooms though, big and very dark. Lush.
Wonder if they would come back next year. I marked some and will check. they
are in a spot we have been checking each year now since 1997. This past
couple years with the digital we get photos.

Found them! Aren't they gorgeous flowers! You can see the front seam on =
some of you photos where the insects enter but can't get out, forcing =
them on a journey up through the flower, gathering pollen along the way =
to deposit as they pass over the stigma on their way out.

Yes such cool plants! There are a couple others that are close up, these
could be blown up bigger and probably should have been but the numbers are
what blew me away. One of those photos has 17 blooms in it. Hard to see but
if you play with enhancement you can find each one. I have one clump that
was five last year and 7 this year all really tight like of the same root.
Once I get stuff off loaded to disk I can compare year to year.........have
to go put up the last of the plant sale posters.

Marg:
While I as looking at your orchid photos, I clicked on the link to your
Pysanky eggs. How absolutely gorgeous. My parents are somewhere in Nova
Scotia right this minute on vacation. So I called an left a message on
their cell phone (I have NO idea if their U.S. cell phone even works up
there!) and gave them the address of the cafe where they can buy your
eggs and asked them to some back to me as a Christmas gift (planning
ahead, you know!). I hope they can find Liverpool and the Woodpile Cafe!

Wow Cyndi, How cool is that!!. I have many more here at home so send them
six mores miles to the west of Liverpool and they can see them here! I'll
even offer them a cup of tea. The upshot of that is there are several
gorgeous beaches here as well....:?)))
