Good morning. Hope everyone had a great New Year.
I am busy trying to tidy and catch up on all the postings. I am so far
behind.
I have a question on clivias. I know someone here was growing them
awhile back and I hope you can help me figure what is happening.
I have brown spots showing up on the underside of the youngest plants
(growing from seeds that ripened two years ago) leaves.
In some cases I can see it from the top of the leaf but just found it by
accident. It is fairly scattered although thick and seems to be rotting
a hole right through in the most advanced cases. Now I threw the plants
in the shower before Christmas. Usually do that a couple times a year so
I can clean the dust off.
I know they were not completely dry when I returned them to the
livingroom but can't see that should be the problem. Our livingroom is
drafty and the air movement should have dried them off before long.
I looked for scale on the net, can't see anything that looks like that.
The main plants which are quite old now are in pretty good shape at the
moment and seem to be getting ready to send up buds.
Any suggestions what is going on here. If I cut one of the brown spots
with my nail or a knife, it is sort of corky (rotted) almost the entire
depth of the leaf. Marg
