Don't want to disappoint you but the original problem was
cutworms, not slugs. I feel a little smug at times. Only once
in the last 10 years have I had a slug problem and thats when it
rained so much my beans succombed to fungus. That year I lost a
lot of tomatoes to slugs simply because I didn't realize that's
what the problem was.
Grasshoppers we get in July and August, though I've never noticed
any real damage. And potato beetles, and cabbage worms and
squash beetles and tomato worms....
