nether scorpion nor rattlesnake be...

Ada:
<< When I put on my boots, socks hat, gloves, and parka, I resemble a hippo.

And then there are camels, which store water like succulents, and have prickly
personalities. Camels and cactus live in the desert, where you seldom see
sweaters. Sweaters are made from wool, cotton, flax, etc.- none of which grow
too well in the desert. Rattlesnakes and scorpions live in the desert, and
they
are seldom used to make sweaters. Neither resembles a hippo. >>

Therefore you are neither a scorpion nor a rattlesnake? Quod erat
demonstrandum?

Just back from the community (population about 5000) fireworks. Sweltering
and noisy - but lots of fun and helped us to feel more rooted here. From the
amount we all sweat it is plain we are not hippos.

Happy 4th to all. A neighbor put on a wonderful bash, with amazing food
(from shrimp through burgers, to scallops Rockefeller, to filet mignon, and
finally grilled lobster tails - man o man). Tomorrow we shall ransack the
garden for a huge bouquet and an excuse to pop by and give these very social
people another visit. They may be having withdrawal after today.

Wow! Lobster tails, shrimp, filet mignon?! I'd've skipped dessert! Who
are your neighbors anyway...the Rockefellers themselves?
