Hi! List is not down, but we are down -- in the garden working. I think it
is spring!!! :)
Yesterday the cat flipped a flat full of germinating seedlings -- seven or
eight little pots, each with multiple seeds -- and I was busy scraping the
debris up off the kitchen floor, sprinkling the seed starter mix on the
surface of more pots, wondering if I can salvage any. There were a couple of
packets of premium seeds in there!!! It's lucky cats have nine lives
because she would have lost one if I could have caught her. (Just kidding.
She is a favorite pet. It's just that she acts like a two year old. I should
have KNOWN better than to leave such an interesting object out in full
view.) Now I am going to have to put all my seed pans in some kind of a
cage. Grrrrrr. Notice, I am putting the seeds in a cage, not the cat. LOL

My DH did that to me. "Well, it was perched precariously on the edge of the
table." NOT!!!!

A woman after my own heart :) I'd do the same. Luckily, I can start my seeds in
the storage section of the basement--off limits to 4 very curious kitties.

Hi Everybody,
Thanks. I'm getting messages again. It's great to hear all this talk
about gardening. It's the highlight of my day when I'm reading all of it.
My husband thinks that I'm nuts, but he's not really into gardening. He
thinks it's great for me to do and he'll look at stuff if I point it out to
him otherwise he'd just go by it. Alan I love all your pictures. Lucky you
living where it's warm enough to have things blooming outside all the time.
I have a front porch which right now is crammed full of everything I could
bring in last fall plus some regular houseplants. I can't wait until my
roses start to bloom. Last year I bought 3 David Austin roses (Graham
Thomas, Abraham Darby and my favorite Pat Austin), and I looked yesterday and
they look like they made it through the winter with all the mulch I put on
them. : ) We moved to an old farm 3 years ago and our 80 year old
neighbor/landlord's mother had a beautiful garden here. There are roses that
I don't know the name of. But they are no maintenance and bloom all summer
long. That's the best kind.
Well I've got to get to work.
