carpenter ant clarification

Hello, all. I've learned today from the exterminator, who, by
request, didn't spray the south wall near my beds, that the ants
that caused the problem here were not moisture ants, but rather
carpenter ants. There currently are no ants present, and no ant
holes/hills to pour urine or boinging water into.

My new question is about predatory beneficial insects that I
could attract as prevention should the ants start to return if
the toxic spraying is stopped. Does anyone know?

Thanks to those who've responded already.

Shari

Actually Carpenter ants are pretty good predators of "thingys" you would not
want around. The presence of carpenter ants in the house indicates, most
often, a problem with wet wood someplace in the structure and can signal a
problem with the structural members that needs to be fixed. But outside they
are really beneficial insects.
