Hi all,
Here in Utah(irrigated bad lands) there are certain ferns that thrive and
live through the winter just fine. I see them all over in sun, in part shade
and in shade, all doing very well all summer long. I started some on a burm
perimitered in quakies---with low bushy flowering plants and they have been
very slow in growing. I think I have too much shade. My main question
though is for a friend who has a corner lot with shade trees all around the
perimiter with lots of large well established ferns(not sure of variety).
She says that every year at this time they start to get brown tips and die
back. Would this be a normal thing for ferns is this climate or is it the
variety of fern. They are well watered and fertilized.
Can anyone tell me about ferns in general or if anyone has had similar
problems, how did you solve them. If you think it might be disease is there
and organic tx?
