As an aside:
Last night I took some blackberry jam to my closest daughter. She told me that our blackberries on Sealand are called "Turkish", having been imported at some point.
On Fyn, the smaller island, the blackberries are more as I remember wild blackberries in NY State, great-tasting, long strands, but not very thick vines.
Here the vines grow to maybe 20 meters and are like thick branches at the bottom after 10 years. They really take over your garden, which is why I decided to dig mine up and just pick the wild ones (mine were just as wild). We decided to give all our wild blackberries (my close daughter has one too) to my younger daughter, who has lots of land and none.
