Several weeks ago, Esther recommended the tape or DVD titled "Rivers
and Tides: Andy Goldsworthy." We watched it last night. Filmed in
Nova Scotia, Scotland, and New York state, it was a beautiful
docufilm (90 min.) of art, gardening, and innovative natural whimsy.
Goldsworthy works with materials only from nature. I loved it... and
I loved watching the tides in Nova Scotia.
At one point in the film when they were creating a stone wall, the
workers said that Goldsworthy's role was to work with the space (the
art) and their role was to handle the stone (the labor). I
immediately pointed that out to my DH... I work with the space and he
does the digging.
Now I know what I'll do with all those spent daylily scapes... art in
the garden. You'll have to see the film. Linda in NW Ohio.

Sorry, I didn't tell you that. It was at the video rental place,
Blockbuster Video. The release date was 2004 by Mediopolis Films.
Andy Goldsworthy is a Scot and lives in Scotland. Think you will
like it, Marg. When we return the video, I want to see if there are
other films showing his art. Much of what he creates is temporary,
inspirations subject to the elements. Hope you can find the film.
Oh, and thanks, Esther, for the suggestion! Linda in NW Ohio.
Hi Linda, must see can I find this Where did you find this?

My pleasure! And I have been having a bad day so it was so it was
especially nice to hear that I had been able to share something that =
pleased
someone else.
I've been having problems with Accor that are threatening to derail this
year's class in France, even if it survives the euro/dollar disparity. =
I
don't understand how a hotel organization can treat people/small =
businesses
like this and still stay in business.
