Carol,

I tried to edit your mail to steamline my reply and everything just =
vanished. Thank you Norton System Doctor. (at least this never happened =
until I down- loaded you)

Anyway, your question was : is yacon a sweet potato or a yam?

Neither : yacon ;Polymnia sonchifolia (P. edulis) is one of the lost =
crops of the Incas if I remember right. It is a distant relative in the =
sunflower family.
In really good ground it can do as well as potatoes. yields of 38 ton of =
edible tubers/ hectare have been recorded.

ArialCarol,

Arial

Were you editing the "Reply"? That shouldn't give
problems no matter which email program you use.

UUH, how does one get ahold of yacon? It is completely unknown here in
Denmark.
