the karoo rose! plus hardy cacti

updated wed 16 may 01

Would you like me to send you a century plant or 2 or 3 or 4, for FREE? WARNING!
They can get HUGE! Unless you grow them in a pot or something like that. But the
blue green foilage is a compliment to the other cacti in the garden. I have lots
of babies right now. I can ship them bare root, so it wouldn't cost to much.

You can see one behind my red chair on this page:

It would probably have to be brought in, for winter protected in the winter...if
you are in a below freezing environment. Sorry Lee Ann, I can't remember where
you live at =)

That one was just pruned up, but it generally has those blue spikes all the way to
the ground.

It's all one piece Lee Ann. I suspect it was poured into a mold. I can't
remember where I got that..... I think from that company that went bankrupt on the
web. Or at least they don't sell merchandise anymore. I have seen it at other
garden supply sites on the web though. If I run across it again, I'll let you
know.

Ah yes...I didn't realize earlier that they had photos for some of their
varieties. These plants could be addicting. I joined the Adenium list,
but haven't had time to do some reading in it before I post an introductory
message. I'll have a question for them right off the bat! So I may well
post in the next few moments!

Alan, between you and Bob S. and Margaret, y'all are causing me to run out
of space for all the exciting new plants you've introduced me to!

Lee Ann, whose top priority on today's Things to Do list is weeding the
hardy-cactus garden. (Bob, I had good success with some, lost some. I need
to weed and compile what's what. The Agave perryi, I think it was called,
bit the dust.)

Oh, and check out their photo's page, they have lots of interesting looking
plants
there, but my favorite is the Adeniums! :)

Thanks for the offer, Alan, but I think I'll need to pass on a century
plant! My house is only 28x32' and it would probably outgrow it in short
time! 8-)

Don't forget, I owe you some feverfew plants (I say wickedly as I pull them
randomly from the lawn, the garden, the driveway, the compost pile, the
sidewalk......) But as much as they spread all over, I still love them!

I have a question about the birdbath made from former military supplies.
What was used to make the bowl?

Oh, it was made from melted down military stuff? I thought it was reused
items, welded together. I am looking for a bowl that shape for a possible
project.
