Ogl members,
with all the talk of slugs and caffeine, I knew I'd seen somewhere that
it's harmful to frogs also.

These sites mention the US effort to rid Hawaii of invasive Caribbean
frogs. It seems pure caffeine kills frogs. My concern would be that more
dilute caffeine might also kill a percentage of amphibians or harm them.
I couldn't find any info from my searches about what weaker
concentrations can do to amphibians. (Actually, my computer is having
conniptions and I can't download anything else :-() Does anyone else
have more information about this??

Deborah, we are talking here of a _2%- solution of caffeine which must be like a cuppa. I have been pouring old coffee in my potted plants for about 40 years with no ill results. And I'm pretty sure a cuppa wouldn't kill a frog or salamander, though it is hardly good for them.
