I cut the flower heads at the base of the stem as soon as they get ugly. =
I
let the leaves die down on their own and gently pull them off when they =
are
brown. Same with other spring bulbs like tulips.

This seems to have been a very dark and long winter on my cliff top but =
at
last we are starting to get some colour in the garden but the daffodils =
are
almost over so what do you all do with them, cut or not?

Thanks Esther, this is what I do but thought it wouldn't do any harm to ask
you for advice.

Oh yes, forgoet about flowering stems.. snap the flower stalks off before
they make seeds (unless you want to try propagating, but it takes a few yrs
to get blooming plants that way) -- if you let seed heads form, that's
taking away energy from the bulb, which is what you want to feed for next
year.
Then leave foliage growing until yellowish or it pulls out easily.
