I always cut up and throw out any apples that are starting to go for the
birds too. Not sure if they would like it but I received a few clemantines
(from China) from a neighbour which I didn't like so chopped them up too and
threw them out for the birds. Have a few pounds of walnuts that have gone
rancid so gradually throwing them out too. No space in the fridge. Should
have frozen them.

... forgot to tell: there are always apples that are starting to rotting in
the cold storage - and they we use to throw out somewhere they do not make
too much mess for the birds during these days .. the birds seem to love
them.
Since we do not have problems with any deer or other animals in the gardens
here around we can do this.
