Man, that's cold. Hope it warms up enough for them to chirp instead. You
have welfare birds?
Beware the dread Toyota. You saw its tracks, didn't you?

On my ledge in the office are several very small cacti that I
picked up Home Depot a few years ago (boy, does time fly) --
and most have grown ever so slowly. But one blooms several
times a year and is blooming again now. It's called the
Tiger Jaws. I think it's sending out a few new shoots too.
The other two were without labels when I got them and they
are doing well but no blooms yet.
I wonder how big the Tiger Jaws cactus can get?

This was the kind of snowfall I like -- plenty of white stuff
but not very deep. I was able to run the car up and down
the driveway a few times and eliminate shoveling. :)

Good Afternoon Dear Margaret
You amazing woman, you. I'm in awe of newspaper women who write
and get paid. :) Tis a consumation devoutly to be wished.
I wonder how big the Tiger Jaws cactus can get?

> Ha ha, Margaret. Of course I would faint if spiders actually did
come out of the Faucaria tuberculosa (Tiger Jaws).
While I've found mention of it on the web, and even some pictures,
none are shown to be very big. Still, as I see it growing and
flourishing, I think it will get bigger. Some call it a
crawling cactus and I hope that refers to a sprawl-type growth
and not that it has crawling things in it.
I fed my wonderful birds so much that the mice, etc. had trails right
into the feeders and subsequently my garage. Mr. & Mrs. Vole were
especially happy and there were many little voles scampering about
and peeking up from under the grass. While I may be holding
back a bit, I noticed a tree in one yard with about 12 feeders on
it. They may be getting my share. :) It was only a little tree too.
Indeed I did. That's my car. :) The tracks were very pretty.

And we had that too. Lovely. Sun glints. Usually snow of 2 inches
or so melts away quickly, but it was cold enough to keep it here a bit.
It can be dazzling.
Best,
June
