when cats attack

Amazing when they do that, isn't it? In my case, it was a combination
of cat bites (rather than scratches) and the fact that my doctor was
out of town that sent me to the ER.

The most embarassing part for me is that I forgot the prime rule of pet
ownership (even the most loving stable pet WILL lash out if
sufficiently upset) and made the mistake of trying to pick him up bare
handed. Never again.

To make this mildly gardening related: in the depths of summer, does
anyone else's dog/cat cool off by lying in periwinkle (vinca minor)
beds? Freddie will make a beeline for the neighbor's bed and stretch
out with only his head sticking up like a periscope.
