I'm purely guessing here, but I'll go for D. 44. Mainly because I don't
think anyone else guessed it, and I want to be first with the right answer!

Lee Ann
Ok, then I'll go for A. 8
Just to keep all the answer bases covered. ;-)

A root is a flower that disdains fame.
One of my reptilian natural history books shows that in the four
corner states of the USA, the number of snake species represented
are: New York: 20, Florida: 39, Washington: 10, California: 32.
I'm too lazy to count those in Roger Conant's field guide.
Suppose the number in Virginia might be between that of NY and FL so
I'll go with the closest answer, B.
