TO ALL ,
We had the bad storm here also , not as bad as NJ , but susq . had =
no electric for a while , tree's down everywhere -- hail from pea size =
to golf ball , with high wind and lot's of rain , had the top of the big =
black cherry break off and damage the roof over our old eating area by =
the shed , and the hood on my son's mower .
As to the seven garden powder , I do not just through it on =
everything , only if I get a mass of bugs .
there are lots of lady bugs all over every
garden , some lace wings , a few praying mantis etc .
In the fall you cant hang out wash or even set on the deck , the =
side of the house is covered with lady bugs as well as everything else .
If you dont beleive in bug controll , because of the poison going =
into the ground , guess where it came from ?
You also must have an awful time trying to get something to eat , =
as I worked for a lot of farmers in my youth and every one of them =
sprayed or dusted for weeds - corn borers etc.
Any fruits - vegies - meats etc. you buy have all been exposed to =
or injected with { USDA } approved amount's of bug residue , vermin , =
sailine soloution - etc. !
My brother uses a sweetner for everything , cant remember the =
name , but one of the ingredient's is wood alcohol , known to cause =
cancer , but he wouldnt use anything else ! - SMART OR WHAT /////

I agree that a knock down of insecticide can be very useful and, properly
done, not very damaging in the long run. What I need to do is convince you
that for a home garden (not commercial), you are much better off creating
natural balances, which may not always work, to control insects. The
reason is the famous rabbit-fox cycle, rabbits increase, foxes increase,
rabbits decrease, foxes decrease. If you stop the rabbits from increasing
(or kill the foxes), you must ALWAYS keep the rabbits under control. The
same is true of insects, natural controls require this cycle to complete
with some help on the gardeners part to avoid total crop loss work.
A vivid example happen to me. I hired someone to spray my fruit trees with
dormant oil spray and a fungicide (sulfur). As a "favor" he sprayed my
other plants including some currents with the recommenced pesticides. For
the first time ever, I had aphids on my currents. The spray , that killed
the minimal amount of aphids on the plants, killed all their controls.
Until you see this in action, its hard to believe it actually works.

Just like DDT was approved for food crops:)
