It's so heartwarming, to hear of people like this gentleman...

I'm glad you have access to your ancestor's resting place, it sounds like
a lovely one; one we could all wish for, but alas, is a far cry from the
cemetery's of today! I hope the new owners share his reverence, for those
who 'worked the land', and walked the paths of yesterday as well...

It really IS pretty! (And of course, I have a thing for blue or purple
blossoms!) Hmmmmm... wonder if I put it in a plastic pot underground, if I
could keep it from taking over? LOL
I know what you mean about the online searching; I spent two hours this
morning, trying to identify two trees we have, and came up with nothing.
*sigh*
Too bad I can't send you some! I just cut out about 100 feet of it! ;-)
Ever see 'Jumanji'? The movie with Robin Williams?
THAT'S the kind of vine this has become, LOL... it actually has creeped
around the wall of my garage, and has tried (No lie) to enter the house,
over the door stoop. Maybe it's got a thing for the silk Ivy's I have in the
house... (Outdoors is the ONLY place I am a gardener, haha)
Everyone 'almost' trips over it, but it has given my front door such a
great 'secret garden' feel to it, I can't bear to cut it back too much! :-)
That's me... form over function every time!
It doesn't sucker onto the bricks, which is good, but needs support of some
kind, to climb. Mine is using my downspout... (Which will probably be
history someday because of it, lol) but I want to add some mortar 'hooks'
into the brick, to get it to climb horizontally a little more.
Buy one only... within 5 years, it will cover about 15 feet!
(Mine did anyway... next to the warmth of the house, and in partial shade.)
Good luck! And be merciless with pruning!
