
I guess the author wwas figuring that peat is all the same as far as
acidity goes.
Maybe a gallon or so of ash isn't too far off the mark as i've seen peat
based soil mix recipes in the past and called out 5- 10 pounds roughly of
limestone.
Bill what I particularly don't like is the way he apparently makes no
reference to determining the pH before one makes any sort of adjustment
to the acidity -let alone such a drastic one.
