Hello to all...
I have read most of "Hands on Agronomy". My major prof at the U
of MD has also perused this book.
We get questions about cation balancing when ever we speak to farmer
audiences about soil quality...
we both picked up the Kinsey book because we wanted to increase our
understanding of connections between cation balance and soil quality.
Saddly we both found the book to be unsatisfying... we concurred that
while Kinsey relates many interesting anecdotes related to his experiences
as a crop consultant, his explanations of soil chemistry are weak if not
pseudoscientific...
I am hoping that the Brookside agronomist (that I recently wrote to)
will shed some light on the fundamental soil chemistry that underlies the
cation balancing approach.
