the infamous killer slug

When my daughter started potting plants for the shop, about two weeks ago, she found some baby slugs and panicked. Certain that it was the killer slug.

It probably wasn't, but she sure found lots today! Today was the first summer day after a torrential rain last night (47 ml) and she found the first ones inside a plastic bag and the next under a plastic garbage bag on her last year's raised bed.

We discussed how to get rid of them. Denmark has a product that makes them lose their appetite and die, but it does the same for all the other slugs and snails.

So she again got all excited about me having hens! I suggested moscus ducks, but she said they shit all over, thin shit!!! Can't have that, can we?

Well, once I had the poles for a fence, and my son in Holland said he was going to build me one, but it never panned out. Probably because I wanted it to look like a Japanese pagoda with lots of little roofs...

Anyway, it is a problem right now - she has repotted everything with fresh soil and dunks the plants in water for at least 24 hours before replanting. I like ethical people, don't you?
