Hi, trying to get some botanical terms straight. The book I'm reading calls
groupings of roses as species. They share common characteristics but
especially in his day, parentage couldn't be feasibly determined. And,
most, although not all, of these "species" easily interbreed with each
other. So that's kosher? Just to group things into a "species" because
they have common characteristics?
And does anybody have a favorite "botany for dummies" web site? He uses
some terms to define parts of the rose that aren't familiar to me. If I
keep googling I may end up with one but I thought I would ask.
