evil flatworms in edinburgh

i had no idea they were here - i would never have nicked that topsoil
from the meadows by moonlight if i'd known....still, what i describe
as my soil is HEAVING with earthworms so i don't suppose i have any
flatworms (i hope!)

the temperature thing is interesting - could you try heating the soil
with a black plastic mulch or hottish water - would they die or just
move down the soil?

also, i'm generating masses of compost that i don't have room for in
my tiny city cente jungle so i'm taking to my friend's rural (field
bounded) garden in the borders.
is this a bad idea (given that's how the flatworms got here)? should
i treat the compost in some way first?

cheers,
