Subject: Re: Bean family & Systematic Botany
I was just perusing the Burpees Heirloom seeds catalog and they mentioned
that lima beans were a very popular item early in the century--the bigger
the better. I've only had limas from a can or frozen and, while I adore
other beans, I find limas truly horrible to the point of gagging. They're
honestly the only food I don't like, I'm easy to please. Are fresh limas
a different story? Who'd like to sing their praises?
