Angelonia is a plant that is better off as a background green. The flowers
are small, but a nice surprise as you get closer. I have noticed that the
white and the pink show up better than the purple or even striped (I have
all four). The plants, for me, have not spread or seeded. They got here in
3 inch pots (from Lowes) and grew to about 2 ft tall and about as wide.
They looked great with the dahlia popping up over the top, and will look
even better with the red guara in front. Though, I am contemplating a move
for the purple striped ones to behind the daylilies, where the Artemesia
'Powis Castle' succumbed last fall. I need to fill in that space quickly,
before the dog discovers he can dig out again.

A background green, with some closeup accents?

okay...do they need deadheading to stay in bloom? If not, that may be why
you haven't seen much in the way of seeds.
How quickly do they grow?

My garden peaked last week - sorry you missed it.

Nope, I have never deadheaded my angelonia. Though I do cut them back to
green stems in the spring. The blooms are small and bloom in succession up
the stem.
