burned pot

You can try boiling water and baking soak in it, but I personally now
swear by the Dawn Power Dissolver stuff. That should get rid of just
about anything.

was it on this list that someone had a recipe for cleaning burned on
pots. . . .I have some of it scrapped off but it still sits soaking in the
sink. . . .any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks

A goodly amount of water (so I don't burn it a second time) a 1/2 cup to a
cup of baking soda and a dollop of dish washing detergent. Bring to a boil,
watch it! It'll go right over the edge. Let it sit a few hours, scrub or
swish a bit. If it's not loose enough keep repeating the process.

You can also use chlorine bleach if the first soaking doesn't work. Just
make sure to empty and rinse it out the pot before changing chemicals.
Works for me.

Pile in some baking soda, let sit, scrub, and do again as many times as
needed. It should come clean

Yes, that was me. Watched the show with the two British Ladies. They poured coke in the pot just to cover the burned on stuff. Then heated it to boiling. Most of it just floated off, but a mild scrub took the rest off. Report to us how it works....I haven't done that in awhile (burned on pot) so haven't tried it as yet.

Forgot to mention Jill that the whole process took about a minute and a half and she said it would work on old burned on pots (which it did, given the state of the kitchen they were working in at the time!). And no elbow grease at all.

Ha-ha. Oh, I burn pots all the time (especially since I tend to put supper on stove and then get on computer!). Just haven't done it since seeing the hint about the coke! I definitely intend to try it though because watching the program, it looked so easy.

shot. . . I knew that baking soda was not the remedy I
remembered/forgot. . . . . .can't report as we had already gotten the
burnt scunge off. . . .I will write the method in my cookbook and
maybe when next this happens, I will try it. I'm like you though
Brenda, I can't remember when last I burned a pot.
