> For pure firepower, try eremurus.
I bought my first Eremurus (Isa-Shelford hyb.) last fall-sale :) - planted
it late and not in the best place to test it, was rather shady (not after
the book!) and poor soil as well - but she came up and grew like a queen!
Even after all the stormy weather now lately she has not broken the stalk!
Have anyone ever looked at this plant when it start ot open it flowes? It
amazed me so - you could stand there watching them come out with few
minutes between! And it bloomed for about 5-6 weeks alt least here by me!
Now I have plenty of seeds and wonder: Have any of you tried to grow this
from seeds anytime and can teach me if there are any secrets to success
with that?

Arnhild, whenever you have a germination question, go to
www.anet-chi.com/~manytimes/ . Tom Clothier has an excellent site with
great germination information. Margaret L

Yes he has a very good site - and there is info about different Eremurus -
on sowning - I am a bit usure hoe to notic when the seeds are ripe - the
seedspods have been lookoing like small balls for months now - still green
- I think the birds have started on them becuse there are less ... or
someone has been finding themselves some seeds in my garden. never mind -
there are plenty left :)
Arnhild .. hmmmmm .... wondering if I just should take it is and see if it
splits and throwe out seeds when it dries?
