poison

Thank you to Margaret L regarding gopher plants. I know the gopher plants
will probably not deter gophers but I am desperate and will try anything,
wierd or not to protect my plants. Have buried empty bottles with the tops
showing along the border so the sound of the wind across will deter
varmits. (and for aphis,I even put banana peels under my apple tree to
keep'm off). Now thats weird. We trap gophers like crazy using Macabe traps
but most plants are already affected by the time we discover their tunnels.
I have gone to mostly raised beds with hardware cloth under for my really
intensive gardening....its just that I would love to use all the
property...borders etc. by the way, I have planted Nicotiana glauca (seeds
given my by Sean O'Hara) all along the borders of the garden and the
gophers have left them alone. They also are near the artichoke plant.
Pretty. Two gray, green leafed plants.
But my main concern is the poison from the gopher plant near the edible
artichoke. Any ideas?

I assume it is because she is trying to provide the questioner with the
most
accurate information about the enhanced use of the product, not trying
to
impose her own choices.
