Alan was kind enough to post two pictures of my peach brugmansia. This
is the one that I started from a cutting Marcelle in CA sent me last
year. Actually she sent me abou 5 stems, which all rooted, but this was
the only one that made it through a summer of absolute neglect and was
still surviving when I returned to FL. These are my very first flowers
on it. I love this plant. It's only about two feet tall, at most, right
now. When it gets to be bigger I think it will really look stunning. I
think I'm going to try bringing two cuttings home to PA for the summer,
although my plant is still on the small side for taking cuttings.

If I bring 2 cuttings home and they both make it, you can have one.

Thanks!
Are you heading back to Florida, or have you come home for the season?

No, I have to go back. There's a lot of things I have to finish up yet.
We've got a major building renovation during May - July on two of the
buildings and although we've gotten bids and selected the contractor I
still have to go over the construction contract with the attorney and
then meet again with the engineer. Also I'm still getting bids to decide
which insurance agent we're going with this year. I already got the
Board to authorize going with the best deal, although I don't know what
that will be until I return. I asked for insurance estimates mid-March
and I still don't have them. On the plus side, I managed to get the
tree-trimming contract for May all done before I left. Major work all
gets done in the summer when no one is there. That way it all looks good
(hopefully) when everyone gets back in fall. In a way I wish I could
stay to oversee the building renovation to make sure they do a good job.
It will reflect a lot on me if they don't. But I'm going to rely on our
summer manager and our engineer. There's no way I'm giving up being in
my PA garden this summer. I am seriously thinking of becoming a FL
resident though, mainly for tax reasons if I ever decide to sell the
condo and buy a house on the mainland.
