"Beer definitely works as a way to drown slugs. Soapy water is just as
effective at drowning slugs.

By Actual test, beer is 19 times more effective than soapy water;"
.......................

There's the VITAL FORCE OF THE BEER at work here.
Both, might physicALLYy drown slugs, but only one can really look good!
.............................................
....."actually, it is a shame to waste the beer on slugs!! You can make a
"synthetic beer" simply with a bit of sugar, yeast, and flour. "

Thanks for thisKevin... what do you think of these baseline proportions

Dear Bill

Sure!! That looks very good for ingredients!!

From a wine makers standpoint, it must be left open during the fermenting...
otherwise it will blow up the jug. After fermentation is complete, you can
cap it, OR use a configuration that prevents air from getting in. This way,
it won't turn to vinegar.

When you wish to use it, shake well, and use "the slurry." If you have it
stored for a while, you could even add a bit more sugar when you set out the
mix for the slugs.... fermentation will then resume. Indeed, you can add
sugar directly to the solution in the "slug trap," to "goose it up a bit."
However, it should be stirred well, to guarantee that it dissolves.
(Concentrated sugar solutions will kill yeast.)

Kindest regards,

Given a choice between having soapy water or beer in the fridge, I
definately and without hesitation choose beer.

I dunno about wasting it on the molluscs tho, they can make do with water.
