Have eaten each separately served on the same plate but not cooked
together. Have both items on hand. Does it have butter and brown
sugar, ? Recipe? Linda in NW Ohio.

My word but it is cold this am. I can't get warm for anything.
I have to get a move on and get to town for groceries before the big blow.
Steve is cutting trees again today. This is the big rush week.
I don't have a recipe....I wedgy both the squash and the apples and set them
in a casserole side by side. alternating them. Then you can take a bit of
brown sugar, a touch of dry mustard, and some apple juice, and mix together.
A dot or two of butter and then you drizzle this over the works.
Cover with foil and bake until it is done. I usually cook it along side a
roast or chicken. Doesn't take long to bake depending on variety of squash.
I usually use sweet mamas (buttercup?) There are variations, you can use
maple syrup as the drizzle (I understand that is very good) add nuts,
raisins and cherries, and even put a cap of pastry on it......gilds the lily
I feel. I have a friend who makes a rum and raisin sauce for her plum
pudding and she says that it is wonderful thinned out and drizzled over the
squash and apples. (using leftovers)
