No, I wouldn't. I think fruit will have time to
mature or at least get to edible stage...should
be setting now if you have temps below
90=B0. There are times when temps seem to remain
high, but fruit sets anyway. I just picked a tub
of lettuce, a large cucumber, and could have
picked a green hot pepper and a couple of
eggplants. My squash plants are very small since
I had to re-plant late...I'm hoping to at least get some zucchini. Margaret=

I have a hard time believing hot temps will impact tomatoes and peppers since they are native to South America and always do well in the hot places up here. In Kamloops, you generally only need to plant 2-3 plants because the yields are so high. Despite weeks of weather in the 35-40C range, and higher on occasion. It will impact fruits in that the fruit itself will likely be smaller than usual with no rain. I CAN see it impacting other garden produce, such as lettuce which will tend to bolt in hot weather and peas and beans which will dry up.

Are others who grow veggies in this same boat? The relentless heat
we had over 6 weeks or so has impacted some of our veggie garden.
Some pepper plants have zero peppers.
temperature is more reasonable, I figure that nothing will come of
fruit setting since there isn't sufficient maturity time. Could
start cleaning the garden. Linda in NW Ohio.

High temps kill the pollen, Brenda. Much of the homeland of tomatoes
and peppers is high altitude, Brenda. Even though close to equator,
high altitude has cool temps. Margaret L

After getting home from Ky (gone 5 days) I picked
eleven zukes. Ate some, gave some away to neighbors
and have more in fridge. Sure wish I could send you some!!!
There were lots of 4th of July tomatoes and one Health Kick.
I have not yet picked all the green beans. and other stuff..
Found a new guinea nest under a broccoli plant :-)
Its hot here but not so hot that it deters the growth of the
veggies.

That doesn't explain why they do so well in Kamloops when frequently the temps are up over 40C (104F). Anything around the equator, even down at sea level is 30C - at least all the places I've vacationed around the equator. Cooler than Kamloops in the summer.

My point is that those areas that are the true home of tomatoes and
peppers are in the Andes, Brenda. I doubt if it's 30 or 40 at
10-15,000 feet in altitude. I think some of our tomatoes and peppers
are setting fruit at night, when the temp is cooler, and no doubt
that happens in Kamloops too. It's a question of when the flowers
dehisce. Margaret L

Here are a couple urls regarding tomato fruit set:

Tomatoes and tomato processing plants are a large part of the economy
in this area. The field tomatoes aren't doing much better than my
garden tomatoes. So, it's not just an isolated situation.

We have this situation in South Carolina. Usually in mid-July thru
mid-august, the tomatoes produce very few blossoms. But as soon as temps
cool ever so slightly, the tomato production begins anew on the same vines.
Even with very hot temps at times, a warm climate can produce many crops of
tomatoes, because the plants don't die, they just rest awhile and begin all
over again. I think the ability to have more than one crop a year is what
makes those places top producers.

PS I am bringing in several large baskets of tomatoes a day as well as
squash, cucumbers and corn. We planted our corn to ripen now and it is
delish. We ate fresh ears on the cob for lunch. Yummy. The tomatoe
production will slack off but we will have a big harvest in the fall if I
keep the vines healthy.
